Silicon and Lead Boost Processing Speeds PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 July 2010
I’m pretty sure that the days of the silicon chips are numbered, whereby with consumers craving for more processing power inside smaller micro-processing chips, silicon chips just can’t keep up with the processing demands. Basically, electrons that flow inside silicon chips will encounter more resistance, which practically limits the processing speeds of the chip. Carbon on the other hand, has a special property that allows electrons to flow almost weightlessly and freely, whereby tests have shown that electrons inside carbon materials can travel up to 0.003 times the speed of light. However, carbon-based processors are harder to manufacture, which increases the overall manufacturing cost.

Apparently, two researchers from the University of Science and Technology in South Korea have created a more versatile silicon chip, whereby they have ingeniously added a thin layer of lead on top of the silicon chip, which lowers the electron mass, and increasing its overall speed. Surely, I don’t think that the general public might approve the usage of lead, as such material causes various health complications.

Perhaps silicon isn’t fading into history after all?

Trade Show Booths PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 July 2010
A good friend of mine works as a marketing consultant and a designer for a company that manufactures trade show booths. Basically, he spends a considerable amount of time designing trade show booths for his clients, whereby mid-sized corporations normally pay his company tens of thousands of dollar to get their trade show booths designed and manufactured from scratch. Apparently, there are so many types of trade show booths available in the market, such as custom pop-up displays, general trade show displays, fabric pop-up displays, trade show exhibits with back-lighting effects, and many more.

On the other hand, accessorizing these trade show booths is also utterly important, whereby exhibitors can incorporate more marketing materials into their booths, which maximizes the effectiveness of the marketing campaign. For example, exhibitors can always opt for various trade show accessories, such as table skirts, light boxes, trade show graphics, presentation tools, banner stands, trade show lighting system, graphic tents, flooring, Pipe and Drape, table covers and many more. Surely, accessorizing the trade show booth with the right marketing materials and accessories might reflect the overall success or failure of the entire marketing campaign.

Thus the next time you are thinking of creating your own trade show booths, perhaps you should pay more attention to the overall design instead?
